Honestly I’m starting to get way too excited about Xmas this year, one of my lovely friends is set to marry and although there’s not many weeks left until the big day, she’s still got tons of things to arrange and has asked me to give her a hand with some of her special DIY projects. I love DIY weddings, they just have that personal flavor that you don’t get with mass produced goods and look even better for Xmas themed weddings.
This year there are so many trends out there, top ideas to watch would be the lazily covered naked cakes, gold leaf pine cones, organic white tree decorations, DIY snow globe favors, sprigs of Xmas tree and totally berry bouquets. To help you decipher which theme would best suit you here’s some mood boards I’ve recently pulled together.
Simply White
An obvious theme for winter, but when done properly this style can look beyond amazing. It’s traditional, perfect for this cold season and looks ever so elegant. Try spray-painting everything in white and don’t worry if it’s not got that clean finish, it will look like a natural snowfall and give you that shabby chic effect.

Berry Heaven
Embrace that natural red coloring that you only can get this time of year. Arrange beautiful bouquets made from lush tree berries and make sure you add a hint of that gorgeous color into your invitations, favors and cake, don’t overdo the look, remember it’s just a hint of very berry that you need.

Scandi Dream
Think of beautiful Scandinavian woodlands; your wedding should use the natural beauty of the Christmas tree and that beautiful olive green shade, team this natural green tint with pure white for impressive results. Keep things rustic but minimal.

Glitzy Gold
Why not include some of that festive cheer into your wedding. Brighten a potentially dull day into something spectacular. Try to keep it simple with gold or add a slight whisper of white if necessary.
