{Design Your Wedding Dress} Custom Made Strappy Tiered Lace Wedding Dress

We’re pretty excited about one of our latest commissions, initially it was a design that we were unsure about whether or not it would work, but it was what the customer wanted and so aiming to please we took each step carefully to ensure it looked perfect! First we were unsure about the layering of lace on each tier, but as it turned out, it looked amazing and really one of a kind, which not many brides can actually claim these days, without the hefty price tag. We completely understand why high street stores have decided to jump onto the bridal bandwagon, but dressmaking is a skill that high-street stores simply cannot compete with. So for brides out there looking to bag a cheap dress, please re-consider your options and get something that you’re really going to love and have it still in budget.

So once we received the brides measurements we set about making the dress starting with the satin underlay. We always work on a model to ensure we get a gorgeous tailor-made fit.

When we buy our lace it comes in a sheet and to create a natural look we cut each pattern out and handsew each piece onto the satin, slowly layering each piece up. We used two types of lace, Chantilly lace used for the edging and Alençon lace for the main body.

Throughout the process we remain in constant contact with all our customers by sending them regular updates and clear photos to show the dress-making process, this way we can ensure everything is been made to the customers full requirements, which will avoid any problems later on and to limit any time wasting.

Finally once the dress has been approved over emails and photos the finishing touches will be added such as mock covered buttons and everything is sewn together. See below the results for yourself.
